Indigenous learners face many barriers in pursuing post-secondary and professional education. One key aspect of these courses and modules is to provide indigenous learners the opportunity to engage with Indigenous CPAs. Sharing your journey to becoming a CPA will be invaluable.

As inspiration, guest speakers share experiences on some or all of the following topics in the presentation:

  • Spiritual views that may have helped you overcome challenges
  • How do you see the profession helping your Indigenous community or organization 
  • Roles in and out of the community
  • Barriers you faced and how you overcame those barriers 
  • How to access scholarships
  • Addressing other challenges and impediments during your academic, personal, and professional life
  • Sharing your positive experiences as an accounting professional
