ILA Partnerships and Opportunities
The initiative has made significant progress in the accounting profession's journey toward supporting the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
As the initiative progresses, we are actively seeking partnerships with community leaders, businesses, organizations, and Indigenous CPAs to support this effort and future initiatives. Join us in shaping a more inclusive future for accounting by learning more about this transformative opportunity.

The Indigenous Learners in Accounting Initiative is a groundbreaking collaboration developed through the innovative partnership and foundational efforts of numerous dedicated partners and advisors:
The Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of Alberta (AFOA Alberta) and the CPA Western School of Business (CPAWSB) have been at the forefront, championing and co-leading this initiative with dedication.
CPA Canada has been integral in curriculum development, creating transformative educational materials in close collaboration with key Indigenous advisors.
We acknowledge the significant contributions of the following Indigenous CPAs for their work not only on curriculum development but also on shaping the framework of the initiative itself as active committee members.
- Robert Andrews (First Nations)
- Marsha Janvier and Maureen Moneta (Métis)
- Killulark Arngna’naaq and Roxanne Ruediger (Inuit).
The expertise and perspectives of these professionals have not only enriched but also steered the initiative toward excellence. Their collective wisdom and personal experiences have laid the groundwork for a profound connection with Indigenous education within the CPA community.
The Western Provincial CPA bodies, including CPA British Columbia, CPA Alberta, CPA Saskatchewan, and CPA Manitoba, have been instrumental in the initiative's evolution, providing essential collaboration and expertise at every step.
Together, we are forging a new path in Indigenous education within the CPA community. With the combined efforts of all these remarkable organizations and individuals, we are excited to advance toward our goals to advance reconciliation and foster a more inclusive accounting profession.
