At the School, we are occasionally asked why we don’t send email reminders for registration, workshops, and exams. Wait – someone is asking why they aren’t receiving more emails?
You got it. And since this was not a one-off inquiry, we now have a blog post. I’m here for that and hope you are too. Here’s the low-down. The rationale behind why we don’t send email reminders and what to do instead.
CPA PEP is a graduate-level program
CPA PEP is a graduate-level program where our CPA candidates (not students) train to work as highly skilled accounting professionals. CPA professionals are often responsible for other people’s dates and deadlines (not to mention many other things…). Hence, tracking your own deadlines is sort of like a meta-skill that CPA candidates are responsible for.
CPA Foresight
Foresight: Reimaging the Profession includes making a strategic plan for our profession at the national stage. Given Canadian CPAs belong to one of the largest national accounting organizations in the world, this makes sense. CPA Foresight applies not only at a national level, but it also applies to candidates planning their CPA path. Candidates may consider defining their personal vision and mission statements (goals) and strategic plan to accomplish those goals.
CPA Dates and Deadlines
Whether it is to find critical dates for CPA PEP module registration, workshops, or exams – to plan out and update your path towards the CFE, you can find those key dates and deadlines here. Not sure about how to plan your elective modules? I have a mini-series on that.I'll close with this: consider tracking your deadlines and taking responsibility for your program with the same diligence you will bring as a CPA. Candidates, you have more power than you may think.
