The list below contains important updates for the upcoming 2025/2026 calendar year. Please read carefully and note any important action items and/or deadlines.

Open Enrollment Core Courses

All CPA preparatory courses will be offered as Open Enrollment—self-paced courses for the 2025/2026 academic year. Students can register at any time and access course materials within five business days of enrollment. Students can complete course materials at their own pace and take the final exam within one year of course registration at any available exam sitting.

Exam Updates

Starting in March 2025, students will no longer be provided with a printed copy of their multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for core course exams. MCQs will be available only through the exam software rather than printed in the exam booklet. A printed copy of the constructed response questions as well as rough notes will still be provided in the exam booklet.

For the 2025/2026 academic year, we have increased our rewrite and challenge exam fees due to increasing operational costs. The updated fee schedule can be found here. As a reminder, please regularly review the exam schedule, exam blueprint, and exam regulations for updates.

2025/26 Administrative Fees

The CPAWSB preparatory course fees for the 2025/2026 academic year have been updated. Please refer to the fee schedule on our website to view the updated fees.

Mental Wellness

Mental health support for learners can be found through the member assistance programs offered by CPA BC, CPA AB, CPA SK, and CPA MB. Visit our website for information on mental health and wellness.

Harmonized Education Policies (HEP) & Student Guide

The national HEP is updated annually and outlines the policies that govern the CPA preparatory courses, including program admission requirements, exam eligibility, and more. Both the HEP and Student Guide are available for review.
Expectations for Academic Integrity and Learner Conduct

Recognizing and adhering to CPAWSB Behavioural Conduct policies on academic honesty and professional behaviour is crucial for CPA PEP candidates. Your dedication to upholding these standards aligns with our core principles and commitment to the public.

Study Permit Requirement and Residency Status Change

To maintain status as an active learner, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or hold a valid study permit while registered with CPAWSB. If you hold a study permit, you must submit a study permit renewal application to the Canadian government prior to the expiry of your current permit. IRCC has been updating their policies on a regular basis, please keep informed of these changes and how they may affect your application before your expiry.

If you require the Appendix to the Study Permit, please e-mail your request to [email protected].

If your residency status has changed and you are now a permanent resident or a Canadian citizen, please provide your documentation to [email protected] and we will update your account.

Keeping Contact Information Current

When completing annual re-enrollment, ensure that your first and last name listed in My CPA Portal matches your legal name. A legal name is essential to confirm your membership and attend examinations. Also, ensure your home address, phone number(s), and email address(es) are current so that CPAWSB can communicate key program updates to you.

If you recently moved or are planning to move to another province or territory, contact [email protected] for assistance in updating your governance or residency status. This message contains important information about the CPA preparatory courses for the 2025/2026 academic year.
