Waiting for exam results can be stressful and receiving an unsuccessful grade can feel like a setback. At the School you can request an exam remark request if you feel you deserve a higher grade. In this blog post, we outline the process for CPA preparatory course and CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP) module exams, so you know what to expect.

CPA preparatory course Exam Remarks

When to request a remark on your exam result?

Exam remark requests are for students who fail a core course only, and you can only apply the request or review on your own exam. Exam remark requests can not be made for non-core courses.

You must apply for an appeal within three business days after you receive your result. The appeal period is set nationally by CPA Canada and the School cannot accept any appeals after the deadline has passed.

How to submit an exam remark request?

Submit a request through My CPA portal.
  1. Select Exam Registration
  2. Click “view” next to your unsuccessful result
Please review the exam appeals/re-mark on CPA Preparatory Courses fees page. The amount will be refunded if your remark is successful and results in a passing grade.

When will re-mark results be released?

The process typically takes ten business days and results will be released as they become available.
CPA preparatory course exams are non-disclosed, meaning your original exam and responses will not be returned as part of the appeal.

Additional information

When an exam is reviewed, the constructed response questions are remarked to ensure that no marks have been missed and that marking guidelines were not misapplied.

Extenuating circumstances are not considered through this process and no additional feedback is provided with your appeal results.
