Academic Eligibility Threshold for PEP Modules
This webpage refers to the following CPA Canada policy resources:
Core and Elective Modules
To ensure eligibility to proceed to the module-end examination, candidates must achieve a minimum overall module grade of 75 percent and attend the module workshop. The overall module grade is a cumulative number and increases from week-to-week as various module activities and assignments are completed. This running total is viewable in the Grades section of each D2L module home page.
When determining the overall module grade, the online portions of the module are weighted as follows:
- Integrated Problem: 30%
- Practice Case: 30%
- MCQ’s, academic integrity quiz, module workshop pre-work: 30%
- Workshop participation: 10%
More information on grade weighting can be found in the CPA Canada – CPA PEP Candidate Guide in the “Assessment and Examinations” section.
At various stages throughout the module, candidates who are on track to maintain eligibility should see a minimum overall module grade similar to one of the module thresholds below.

Maintaining Eligibility
Extensions for Missed Submissions
Candidates who have missed past assignments due to extenuating circumstances may be granted retroactive extensions to allow for late submissions. If an extension is granted, this can provide an opportunity to raise the overall module grade and receive facilitator feedback.
For more information regarding extenuating circumstances and how to make an extension request, please visit the Extensions webpage on the CPAWSB website.
Workshop Accommodation
Eligibility to write the module-end examination may be impacted if candidates do not attend partial or the entire module workshop. However, candidates may submit an “Accommodation Request” through My CPA Portal. If a workshop accommodation is approved, candidates will complete the necessary makeup activities to ensure eligibility to proceed to the module-end examination.
Please visit CPA PEP Workshop Accommodations for more information.
