MOU CFE Support Initiative

The MOU CFE Support Initiative is designed for candidates entering the CPA program through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or those going directly to the Common Final Examination (CFE). This initiative provides structured support to build technical knowledge and case-writing skills essential for CFE success. Resources are available year-round and are aimed at helping candidates develop the competencies and confidence needed to tackle the CFE.

What You’ll Access

Introductory Workshop

Six live and recorded sessions covering essential CFE skills, including exam format, timing, and strategies. This workshop offers a thorough introduction to the CFE’s structure and expectations.

Case Writing Fundamentals Tutorial

A focused tutorial on effective CFE case-writing techniques, such as analyzing case requirements, structuring responses, and managing time. It’s designed to strengthen problem-solving skills essential for CFE cases.

Capstone Technical Review Platform

A comprehensive review of core technical topics relevant to the CFE. This platform helps candidates strengthen foundational concepts to build technical proficiency before the exam.

Weekly Case Practice and Feedback

Access various practice cases in the Introduction to Capstone 2 and CFE module on D2L, and receive weekly feedback from CPAWSB facilitators. This resource supports continuous improvement through practice and guidance.

Moderated Discussion Board

A dedicated D2L discussion forum where candidates can engage with peers and facilitators, discuss challenges, ask questions, and share study tips in a collaborative environment.

Weekly Office Hours with Facilitators

Live weekly sessions with a CPAWSB Facilitator offer direct guidance, answering questions and providing clarification on areas of uncertainty as candidates progress in their preparation.

Additional CFE Preparation Resources

Supplementary materials within the Introduction to Capstone 2 and CFE Module on D2L include self-assessment tools, time management tips, and exam strategy guides.

How to Get Started

Automatic Enrollment

MOU and Direct-to-CFE candidates are automatically enrolled in the MOU CFE Support Initiative upon registering with CPAWSB. A confirmation email provides guidance on where to start.

Flexible Study Timeline

Resources are refreshed each January to support either a January-to-May or January-to-September CFE study plan. Candidates can access materials year-round and adjust timelines based on personal study needs.

Eligibility

Automatically available to MOU and other Direct-to-CFE candidates registered with CPAWSB.

Access

Year-round access in D2L within the “Introduction to Capstone 2 and CFE” module.
