In alignment with our commitment to reconciliation, CPAWSB staff recently took part in a meaningful learning event co-hosted by AFOA Alberta on Thursday, October 3. This event focused on Jordan’s Principle, a pivotal topic in the pursuit of equitable healthcare and social services for First Nations children. Several distinguished speakers shared their insights and experiences, shedding light on critical issues affecting Indigenous communities.
With our learners, CPAWSB will strive to create an environment where everyone wishing to pursue professional accounting education feels valued and proactively supported in their journey, regardless of gender, age, socio-economic status, ability/disability, race, ethnicity, geographic disbursement, or any of the other dimensions of diversity. CPAWSB will be a workplace where all staff and contractors feel valued, respected, and supported.
CPAWSB will fulfill these commitments by creating visibility of EDI in the CPAWSB environment, building cultural competence with our staff, contractors, and prospects/learners, and working towards debiasing and increasing access in CPAWSB’s current processes, all within a framework of continuous improvement.
Through continuously pursuing the commitment to EDI, CPAWSB can support the CPA profession in acting in the public interest while contributing to economic and social development in ways that are innovative, while demonstrating integrity in its open and proactive pursuit of equitable access and opportunity.

We're on a journey to ensure that CPAWSB becomes even better - a place that fully embodies the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion. And on this journey, your perspective is invaluable.
With this in mind, we have engaged Prairie Research Associates (PRA Inc.), an independent research firm, to conduct a survey. This survey aims to gain insights into your experiences at CPAWSB, particularly regarding reconciliation, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Your valuable insights will help us improve, evolve, and ensure that our community is one where everyone feels truly welcome and heard. We believe in the power of change, and with your help, we can continue to grow in a way that aligns with the values we uphold.
All current learners in CPA preparatory courses and CPA PEP will receive a survey from PRA Inc. Please take a few moments - about 15 minutes - to share your honest feedback. Your voice matters to us, and this survey is a chance to be heard.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact either Cindy Carangue, our EDI Manager, or Nicholas Borodenko at PRA Inc.
