CPA preparatory courses are offered in-person, online (via webinar), or through distance (self-study) learning. In-person or online preparatory course facilitators deliver weekly lectures during the 6-week semester and address student queries via a discussion board or email. Weekly lectures occur either for three hours on two weeknights or six hours each Saturday.
Distance study facilitators address student queries via a discussion board but do not provide instructional support to students.
In-person, web, and distance facilitators may choose to mark student projects. Facilitators who choose to opt out of marking will have the support of a supplemental marker to assist with grading.
In-person and web facilitators: $5,400 per session (36 instructional hours)
Distance facilitators: $100 per hour (based on the number of reported hours, max 10 per week)
Interested applicants must have a university degree (master’s degree preferred) and previous in‐person teaching experience. CPA designation is preferred.
Training is provided by CPA Canada and CPAWSB. New facilitators are required to review all training materials (orientation video and written guidelines) provided by CPA Canada and CPAWSB and attend any in-person training offered. Facilitators who choose to mark must also attend on-going marking webinars offered by CPA Canada.
